Hessels & van Rooij Engineering B.V. (HVR Engineering) is based in Eindhoven and an independent mechanical engineering consultancy that is part of the IHC IQIP group. With seven employees, it concentrates on strength and lifetime calculations, as well as simulations and consultancy with regards to hydraulic and mechanical drive technology. In addition, HVR Engineering focuses on equipment aimed at offshore constructions and ships in particular. This includes the development of foundations for offshore wind installations and services for the main water defences in The Netherlands, for example at Oosterscheldekering and the Maeslantkering. As well as performing calculations, HVR Engineering is specialist in carrying out measurements on components and systems to verify calculation models, in addition to detecting and solving possible problems in equipment and constructions. HVR Engineering has been working for a number of highly renowned and diverse companies within the Dutch industry for over 30 years. Due to expanding business demands, it is now looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join its growing team.
As Project Engineer Measurement Technique and Simulation you will be responsible for independently setting up technology and carrying out project measurements. This will also include the management of the existing measurement equipment, as well as further developing and expanding the technology and software used by HVR Engineering in Eindhoven. The measurements will be carried out on hydraulic components, hydraulic and mechanical drives, and floating installation constructions in (among other things) the automotive and offshore oriented fields. This includes:
- assessing systems
- setting up a method of approach and any associated planning for the measurements required for components and/or systems
- independently carrying out analysis and reporting
- discussing any results with the customer.
In addition, you will as Project Engineer Measurement Technique and Simulation initiate and perform simulations for the components and systems to gain practical results that can be used alongside the results of calculation models, as well as prepare for the measurements. At HVR Engineering in Eindhoven, we attach great importance to creating a strong link between theory and practice. The implementation and comprehensive feedback on measurements is an essential part of this. You will start by getting to know the company and becoming familiar with the current methods and assignments. After which, you will start working independently on measurements and analysis. You will also follow a course to get acquainted with the calculation programs and programming environments that are commonly used at HVR Engineering, including Matlab/Simulink, Mathcad, C#, and C.
As Project Engineer Measurement Technique and Simulation you must have a mechanical engineering degree and a strong affinity for carrying out measurements on components and systems. Knowledge of the programs Matlab/Simulink, Mathcad, C#, and C is desirable but not essential. You will have a passion for the industry, including carrying out measurements, both onshore and offshore. In addition, you will have strong communication skills that you will utilise with both customers and colleagues. You will be someone who likes to take on a challenge and can pick up projects relating to measurement technology and activities, as well as have an interest in developing processes in the future. You will be based in Eindhoven and should be prepared to travel for your job both in The Netherlands and abroad.
Please note, only candidates with a valid EU work visa will be considered as viable candidates. An online assessment and screening can form part of the recruitment process.
